3979 Brorsen (1983 VV1) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on November 8, 1983 by Antonín Mrkos at Klet. On proposal of Jana Tichá, the comet was named Brorsen after the Danish astronomer Theodor Brorsen on August 8, 1996.
